For nearly a decade, the Annual Mini Monster Bash has been one of the most anticipated, free family events Mitchell Historic Properties hosts every Halloween season. This year, the event promises to deliver even more adorably spooky fun for families, all taking place at downtown Galveston’s Saengerfest Park.
Celebrate Halloween on The Strand
The festivities will kick off at Saengerfest Park on Saturday, October 26, where families and children of all ages will be welcomed to take part in a variety of Halloween-themed events and activities. The Mini Monster Bash has become a treasured Galveston tradition, giving both locals and visitors the opportunity to experience the historic Strand District in an entirely new way.
Although the majority of the activities take place at Saengerfest Park, the rest of the downtown district also joins in on the fun. This free Halloween event in Galveston truly has something to offer everyone.
Trick-or-Treating on The Strand
Participating businesses throughout downtown Galveston will be opening their doors to trick-or-treaters starting at 11:00 a.m. and during the Mini Monster Bash, passing out treats as a sweet welcome. Families will get to explore the unique Strand District and visit many of its beloved businesses, connecting with members of the community and stocking up on treats in the process.
Kid-friendly games, food, and face painting
In addition, to trick-or-treating at downtown businesses, families are also invited to take part in the variety of activities hosted at Saengerfest Park. Children can get into the Halloween spirit with fun games, as well as take a quick break for some fantastic face-painting. Treats will also be available to keep any monster-worthy appetites at bay.
Costume contest for even your littlest monsters
Be sure to encourage children to don their best Halloween costumes to participate in the Mini Monster Bash costume contest! Entrants will compete in the categories of Cutest, Scariest, and Most Creative, with divisions split according to age group (ages 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-11 years). Fabulous prizes will be awarded to the winners!
