Enjoy the holiday season in Galveston, Texas
Looking for some things to do in Galveston this holiday season? The Galveston holiday events calendar is full of places to visit and events to experience. The following are some Galveston attractions that you will most certainly want to take consider attending.
Chill out in Ice Land. No, you won’t need a passport to get into Moody Gardens, but you will want to bring your camera. The Caribbean-themed party features some of the most fun and creative ice sculptures in the world. This year’s event runs from November 12 to January 8.
Feel like lighting up the night? Stop by Moody Gardens Festival of Lights, which is also being held between November 12 and January 8. From 6-10 p.m. each night, the gardens are going to be lit up to look like everything from swans to Santa Claus.
Want to catch a fantastic show? You can stop by Island ETC on November 18 to catch the Marvelous Wonderettes. These girls are doing everything they can to save Christmas and you’ll want to see just how they pull it off!
Had a good year and want to give back? Stop off at the Kendra Scott Trunk Show on November 18. From 3-6 p.m. You can do some extra shopping and make a donation to the Galveston County Food Bank at the Hotel Galvez and Spa.
Just want to take it easy? Stop by the Rosenberg Library, where on November 23, you can enjoy Christmas stories that will be read from 4:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. While you are there, pick up a book to take back to your Galveston home or beach rental.
If you feel like making a run for it, sign-up for the Holiday Half-Marathon being held on Sunday, December 4. It’s an event that’s sure to take your breath away!
Of course, no Christmas in Galveston is complete without making a trip to see Santa himself. His train will arrive at the Galveston Railroad Museum on December 10. This year, he’s giving the reindeer a break and taking the Christmas Express as he gets ready for the season.
Finally, if you don’t feel like cooking on the big day itself, let the staff at the Hotel Galvez do the work for you. They are cooking up a Christmas brunch on December 25 that is sure to satiate your appetite. It’s a feast that the whole family can sink their teeth into.
You may also want to take some time to “Stroll the Strand.” This fabulous district is full of shops and restaurants where you can sit back and enjoy the holiday spirit throughout the month.
